Izzy & Abby Nazario
Izzy Nazario initially had a career in advertising, a career which brought him from Connecticut down to Florida. He continued in advertising for more than twenty years until he felt God was calling him to move from a volunteer position in the church to a full time responsibility. While looking for this opportunity, he happened upon Calvary Connect, the Calvary TV show on The Goodlife 45. He felt this was a sign to join the Calvary family, and later joined the Calvary team as the Connections Pastor. Izzy’s passion for his ministry comes from his passion for establishing relationships with people, as well as working hand-in-hand with his wife, who oversees his Connect Groups in an administrative capacity. Together, they watch the seats at Calvary fill up every Sunday, and strive to bring someone to every empty seat.
Josue & Ruth Avila
Josue came from Connecticut to Orlando in search of warmer climates. An old friend of his, Pastor Izzy, invited him to Calvary, where Josue quickly decided to make it his home church. With his home here established, Josue committed himself to living out his passion at Calvary. Josue’s love for ministry comes from a constant reminder that he feels loved, that he enjoys a supportive family and uplifting friends, and that he doesn’t deserve any of it. He feels that every blessing is an undeserved act of God’s abundance in his life, and this is what he hopes to exemplify through every act of worship. More than singing and dancing, Josue hopes that his worship can ultimately lead others to pursue a deeper relationship with Christ. More than arms raised, Josue hopes to see the lifestyle of worship become more common at Calvary.

Gustavo & Priscila Debastos
Calvary Português Pastor
Pastor Gustavo came from Boston to Orlando to care for his ailing mother-in-law. She was completely cut off from her family, suffering from depression and a myriad of medical issues. He came to bring one person comfort, and found a cultural enclave in the city suffering. He began to speak to one young woman he worked with about Jesus, and this eventually led to his beginning a small church operating out of his home for Portuguese speakers. The church quickly grew and began to meet in an Adventist church when Gustavo felt God call him to make a change. He turned the congregation over to his friend and began to attend other churches in the Orlando area. This led him to Calvary, where he and his family immediately felt at home. He now runs the Portuguese ministry at Calvary, guided by his passion for people and connections, for listening to stories and providing a home for the dispossessed. Gustavo’s sons help set up the sanctuary on Sundays, his wife directs his zeal for ministry, and together they reach a host of people desperate to learn about Jesus in their own tongue.
