You drive down I-4 everyday. It’s a part of your life and there’s no way around it, no way past the traffic and the constantly changing exits. Maybe you’ve seen that big glass building off of Fairbanks, reflecting back at you. Maybe you wonder what goes on in there. That’s us, that’s Calvary. Whatever you’ve gone through, whatever lives in your past, something in it has brought you here, and we believe that there’s something here for you. We don’t know what brought you here, where you’re from or where you’re going, but we’re here and happy to have you, happy to invite you in to worship with us, and to fellowship with us. Whether some of this is new, or the whole thing seems foreign, life is full of firsts, and everything that’s become a part of your life had to start somewhere.
You’ve been to a few sermons. You nod at some faces you recognize on the way in, you do the same on the way out. Coming has become a habit, but growing beyond that still seems uncomfortable. We were made to stretch ourselves, to push past what we know into what we don’t. We’re happy to grow with your needs at your pace, but we are always ready to help you connect with Calvary.
Your Sunday morning routine has started to reach into the afternoon. You’ve become part of a community at Calvary, and you find yourself stepping into conversations easily before and after service. Your seats are established and you’ve begun to develop friendships, you feel you’re part of a community here. If you feel you’ve begun to get something more out of Calvary, we invite you to become a part of Calvary through serving. We don’t expect you to start teaching sermons, or to lead worship on Sunday mornings, Now that you’re here, now that you’re part of Calvary, we’d like to invite you to join us in bringing what you’ve found here to the greater Orlando community.
Your Sunday morning route to Calvary is ingrained and nuanced. Parking is second nature. You know those on the way in by name and your greetings are personal. Calvary has become comfortable and known. Your community here is established, you’ve begun to grow in your faith and your relationship with Jesus, and you give of yourself through serving at Calvary. Now that you’re here, now that you’re part of Calvary, we’d like to invite you to join us in bringing what you’ve found here to men and women the world over. Calvary is not here to shelter its congregation from the world, but to interact with it, to change it. Wherever there is hunger, wherever there is pain, wherever there is fear, our goal is to assuage these and bring comfort to a broken world. We invite you to come with us, to go.
