March 12 – Connect
When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings
1 Corinthians 9:22-23
We live in the age of information; which, according to Wikipedia, is a period in human history characterized by the shift from industrial production to one based on information and computerization. And these days, most people carry a super computer in their pocket in the form of a cell phone. Ironically, making phone calls tends to be the least used capability. We’re all linked, but not connected.
This handheld mobile technology gives us access to the Internet, social media, cat videos and even one-click shopping. You can order something on Amazon and have it at your doorstep within hours, or you can browse Amazon and see ads for the product you didn’t buy in every other website you visit; until you click on it, which brings you right back to Amazon where it all started. In the advertising world, this is called targeted marketing. Companies leverage this type of data to create messages, ads and communication to establish a personal connection with their product and convert you to a shopper.
In that same mindset, you can network for the gospel. You can be a living advertisement for the Lord by making connections and establishing relationships with those who need the Good News of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
God doesn’t call us to reach everybody, but He does call us to reach somebody. Ask God to open up the right opportunities for you to connect with people, and allow Him to use you to make a difference in the lives of those around you.
Today’s Prayer Focus: Pray for new friendships among those who have yet to accept Christ.
