Life with God is not a straight line. Many people imagine the Christian life as constant progress upward. But the truth is that following the Holy Spirit often includes valleys, detours, and unexpected turns.
The Bible reminds us in Romans 8:14 that “those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons and daughters of God.” A Spirit-led Christian life means trusting God even when the journey does not make sense.
Throughout Scripture, we see this pattern. Moses met God on the far side of the desert after years of feeling forgotten. Joseph went from a pit to prison before stepping into the purpose God had for him. Paul faced prison, storms, and shipwrecks on his way to Rome. None of those moments looked like success, yet each one was moving God’s plan forward.
Sometimes what feels like a setback is actually preparation. A closed door may be a divine detour guiding you somewhere greater. God is not only working in the destination but also in the journey itself.
If you feel stuck today, remember this truth: you are not behind, you are not forgotten, and you are not stagnant. If you are following the Holy Spirit, God is still leading your life.
The Christian journey is full of unexpected paths, but every step in obedience leads us deeper into the purpose and plan of God.
