April 6th, 2025
At Calvary Orlando, we are in a season of deep reflection, celebration, and revelation. As we continue our Easter sermon series "Up!", inspired by the powerful Forrest Frank song, we were reminded on April 6th just how important it is to see Jesus for who He truly is.
Why the Transfiguration Still Matters Today
Too often, we settle for a partial view of Jesus—healer, provider, teacher. But the Transfiguration, as shared by Pastor Kevin, showed us that Jesus is more than a miracle-worker—He is the glorified Son of God, shining with divine radiance. This moment reminds us to worship Jesus not just for what He does, but for who He is.
A Mountaintop Revelation
In Matthew 17, Jesus takes Peter, James, and John up a high mountain. There, His appearance changes—His face shines like the sun and His clothes become dazzling white. The glory of God is revealed right before their eyes. This moment isn't just about dazzling lights—it's about divine identity.
Jesus doesn't just reflect God’s glory like Moses did. Jesus is the glory of God.
If you're searching for a deeper relationship with Jesus, the Transfiguration reminds us that there’s always more to see.
What This Means for You
Jesus is the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets (Moses and Elijah both appear to affirm it).
God the Father Himself affirms Jesus, saying: “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."
Your faith journey isn't just about the miracles. It’s about knowing Jesus deeply—even in seasons of waiting, suffering, or doubt.
If you're feeling stuck, spiritually dry, or simply want more of God in your life, the invitation is clear: Go up the mountain. See Jesus in His fullness. Don’t settle for a surface-level view.
There’s more to see—come discover the fullness of who Jesus is.
