A new year brings new questions, especially for Christians seeking God’s direction. Scripture is clear. “Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons and daughters of God” (Romans 8:14). A Spirit-led life is not optional. It is part of who we are as God’s people.
This is the heart of Uncharted. God never intended for believers to simply acknowledge Him while leading themselves. He placed the Holy Spirit within us so we could walk in obedience, purpose, and trust.
The Holy Spirit Positions Us
Romans 8 reminds us that we are no longer controlled by our old nature. The Holy Spirit lives in us, speaks to us, and leads us. A Spirit-filled Christian life goes beyond meaningful church moments. It shapes our everyday decisions.
The image of a turtle on a fence post makes this clear. If you see a turtle on top of a post, you know it did not get there alone. In the same way, the Holy Spirit places us in opportunities we could never create ourselves. When God elevates us, it is always for His glory.
Prompting Requires Obedience
Feeling the Spirit’s prompting is only the beginning. Breakthrough follows obedience. Throughout Scripture, God positions ordinary people in extraordinary places when they respond with trust. A Spirit-led life often brings disruption, but it always leads to purpose.
Giving God Our Yes
As a church, especially here in Orlando, we are invited to step into the uncharted. God is calling His people to stop asking Him to bless their plans and start following His. The adventure begins when we give Him our yes and allow the Holy Spirit to lead.
