The Comeback Was Always the Plan: A Resurrection Sunday Message

Easter isn't just a holiday—it’s a life-changing moment in the Christian story. At Resurrection Sunday 2025, we declared with joy that "the comeback was always the plan." This wasn't just a feel-good phrase; it’s a biblical truth anchored in the power of Jesus' resurrection.

Hope Was Never Off the Table
From the very beginning, God had a comeback plan. Jesus’ death wasn’t a detour—it was the path. As Jesus said in John 10:18 (referring to His life):
“No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again.”
This was not a story gone wrong. This was divine strategy in motion. The resurrection of Jesus wasn't plan B—it was always plan A.

The Power of the Resurrection
The empty tomb is more than an event—it’s an invitation. Romans 8:11 tells us:
“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.”
This means the same resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead now lives in us. Your story isn’t over. Even when life feels like it’s at a dead end, God is writing a comeback.

God Still Rolls Stones Away
In Matthew 28:6, the angel declared:
“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.”
That stone wasn’t rolled away to let Jesus out—it was rolled away so we could look in. God still moves stones in our lives—stones of fear, doubt, addiction, and shame. The resurrection reminds us: you can rise again.

Your Comeback Starts Now
This Easter, we were reminded: Jesus’ victory is our victory. You don’t have to stay in the tomb of your pain or past. The resurrected King lives—and because He lives, you can live free.

Wherever you are in your journey, know this: your comeback is not just possible—it’s promised. The comeback was always the plan.

Why did the women go to Jesus' tomb on Sunday morning? Answer: to anoint Jesus' body with spices, right? Christians have heard this story since we were little children. We accept it as fact without a second's thought. But I want you to reflect on this claim for a moment: Why would anyone place spices on a body that is already buried; a body that has been in a state of decomposition for several days? It makes no sense whatsoever!

nThis story alone proves that the Empty Tomb Story is fiction. It never happened. It is a work of apologetics. But there is more bad news for Christianity: Jews laugh at the Gospel authors' claim that Jewish women planned to apply spices to the body of a Jewish man. This is ABSOLUTELY forbidden in Jewish culture. How do I know this? A Jewish rabbi told me.

n

nThe most dangerous critic of Christianity living today is not Sam Harris or Richard Dawkins. The most dangerous critic of Christianity living today is a Jewish rabbi: Rabbi Tovia Singer
