At Calvary Orlando, Mother's Day 2025 was more than a celebration—it was a divine encounter. Together as a church, we honored every kind of mother: birth mothers, adoptive moms, stepmoms, spiritual mothers, grandmothers, and every woman carrying the sacred role of nurturing others. But this day became a spiritual turning point, one where hearts were softened and faith was reignited.
A Spirit-Filled Mother's Day Service
From the moment we lifted our voices in worship, the room became thick with God’s presence. Songs like “Come Alive” and “Way Maker” reminded us that even when we don’t feel it, He is working. Our faith was stirred, and we could feel the shift—a spark was being kindled.
At the start of service, Pastor Josue reminded us during worship that the posture of our heart can change everything. Whether in joy or heartache, our praise matters. He encouraged us: “Worship in the waiting. Worship in the unknown. Worship when your prayers are still unanswered.” Because even when we don’t see it, God is working.
This powerful moment set the tone for the day—worship unlocks breakthrough, and it ignites the very flame that may have dimmed under the weight of life.
Ignite: The Series That’s Changing Lives
We’re in the midst of our “Ignite” sermon series, and what a timely word Pastor Maria brought to us. With her heartfelt warmth and spiritual insight, she reminded us that sometimes, in all the doing and striving, we can forget our first love—Jesus. The church in Ephesus did many things right, yet Jesus reminded them that without that burning love, the flame dies.
But as Pastor Maria encouraged us, the flame isn’t lost forever. It can be rekindled.
The Story of Lydia: A Heart on Fire
One story resonated deeply with us—the story of Lydia in Acts 16. A successful woman, a business owner, and yet humble enough to be moved by the gospel. When the truth of Jesus reached her ears, she didn’t wait. Her heart ignited, and her whole household followed. That’s the power of one woman’s "yes" to God.
And just like Lydia, we are called to evangelize, to welcome others into our homes, our hearts, and our faith. It's about letting Jesus interrupt our carefully planned lives, and saying, "Lord, have Your way."
A Word for Every Woman
For the mamas still waiting to become moms. For those grieving, celebrating, or both. For the daughters standing in faith. For the women who’ve given everything and feel unseen—God sees you. And your flame is not forgotten.
When we say “another miracle is on the way,” we’re not offering cliché. We’re declaring truth over our lives and yours. Because anything is possible when your heart is open and your faith is alive.
