Staying Full - Are You Connected to the Source?

Have you ever felt like you’re constantly pouring out into your family, your work, your relationships, and your responsibilities until you have nothing left to give? In this message from the Fullness series, we are reminded that the question isn’t: do we have enough to give? The question is: Are we connected to the Source?

In John 15, Jesus says, “I am the vine; you are the branches.” Jesus is the source of life, and our goal is to remain connected to Him. We are not the vine. We are the branches. When we remain linked to Jesus, He produces fruit through our lives.

Jesus repeatedly tells His disciples to remain and abide in Him. Remaining is not passive, it involves obedience, prayer, God’s Word, love, and community. As we stay connected to the vine, the Holy Spirit works within us and bears fruit that brings glory and honor to God.

The message also reminds us that having a Christian community is part of staying connected. We need one another. Whether it's through church, small groups, friendships, Bible study, and friendships, we can stay and remain rooted in God.

Staying full isn’t as much about handling what is in our water pitcher as it is about staying tethered to the Source. When we stay connected to Jesus, His Word, His Spirit, and His people, we can remain in overflow and allow the fruit of our lives to point others back to Him.

Jesus is the vine. We are the branches. Stay connected. Stay full.
