In today’s fast-paced world, leadership is often defined by power, titles, and recognition. But Jesus redefined leadership through a radically different lens—servanthood, compassion, and truth. If you’re a Christian living in Orlando (or anywhere!), you’re not just called to attend church—you’re called to lead from your faith.
You Were Made to Lead
Our latest message in the Made for Mondays series, Lead Like Jesus, reminded us that every believer is a disciple, and every disciple is a leader. The call to follow Jesus isn’t passive. It’s a call to live with purpose, influence, and mission.
“A disciple is someone who knows Jesus, is being transformed by Jesus, and is committed to the mission of Jesus.”
Whether you work in an office, teach in a classroom, raise a family, or serve in your local church, your influence matters. Christian leadership is not about having authority over others—it’s about shining the light of Christ wherever you go.
Leadership Lessons from the Greatest Leader
When we examine the life of Jesus, we discover a model of leadership that turns worldly values upside down. He wasn’t chasing status—He was washing feet.
1. Lead from Identity and Mission
Jesus was crystal clear about who He was and why He came. In the same way, your identity as a disciple of Christ gives you clarity in a world of confusion.
2. Serve Like Jesus
True leadership begins with service. Jesus washed His disciples’ feet not to be dramatic—but to show us how to honor others above ourselves.
3. Lead with Compassion
When Jesus saw the crowds, He didn’t see interruptions—He saw souls. In your workplace or community, compassionate leadership changes lives.
4. Empower Others
Jesus wasn’t a spotlight hoarder. He trained and released others into ministry. As a leader, your job is to lift others up, not climb over them.
5. Stay Grounded in Truth
Culture may shift, but God’s Word remains firm. Jesus never compromised truth to stay popular—and neither should we.
Leading from the House
At Calvary Orlando, we believe that leadership starts in the house of God. The church is more than a gathering—it’s a place of discipleship, equipping, and community. Through our services, small groups, and serving teams, we grow together and go together.
You don’t need a microphone or a ministry title to make a difference. You lead when you:
You Are a City on a Hill
Jesus called us salt, light, and a city on a hill. That’s not just poetic—it’s a mandate. As you head into your week, don’t hide your faith. Live it boldly. Lead it humbly. The world needs what God has placed in you.
So, what’s your next step? Are you leading from a place of discipleship or simply surviving Monday to Friday? It's time to rise up and lead like Jesus.
